DIY All Natural Flu Bomb
Updated: Jun 26, 2019
Influenza or the flu tends to be more common in the winter season, when we are all cooped up and when we tend to eat more highly processed food and sugar. Sugar, stress and compromised sleep is the perfect trifecta to weaken your immune system, increasing your chances of getting the flu. If you’re feeling achy all over, sneezy, stuffed up and tired, there is a good chance you may have the flu.
Some symptoms of the flu include:
Fever or feeling feverish/chills
Stuffy or runny nose
Body or muscle aches
Tiredness or fatigue
Kids most often experience diarrhea or vomiting
One of my favorite home remedies with anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal properties that will help combat this as quickly as 24 hours is the FLU BOMB. It’s not the best tasting but a little bit of honey will help it to go down more easy.
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
¼ tsp grated fresh ginger
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/8 to ¼ tsp of cayenne pepper
1 tsp. raw honey
Handful of fresh thyme
1. Place a handful of fresh thyme in ½ cup of water and boil. Remove from stovetop and let steep for 5 minutes
2. Remove thyme from water and place in cup with the remaining ingredients and add ½ cup of room temperature water
3. Drink within 5 minutes for maximal benefits. Can be repeated 2-3 times throughout the day.
Garlic – anti-fungal, anti-viral, boost immune function
Lemon – good source of Vitamin C, helps relieve a sore throat
